Everything on this website is free. If you could help us with a small donation to cover costs and keep the site going, that would be great!
We are starting a new ‘Contemporary Poets’ section on our Listen to Poetry website. We welcome any poet, whatever stage they are at on their poetic journey, to be in touch with us if they would like to have their poetry read on the website. If you are a confident performer of your own work and are able to provide sound files of good quality we can also build a Poet’s page for you. Xavier’s page below is an example of this.
We particularly wish to encourage new or recently published poets trying to get their work more widely seen. There is increasing interest in ‘performance poetry’ in the UK at the moment. However performing or reading your own poems out loud is not something every poet feels comfortable doing. Yet so often it is the performance or reading out loud of a poem that brings it to life. Listen to Poetry is interested to work with contemporary poets to help promote their work. We can create a poet’s page with readings of your poems and links to your websites or publications etc. We also have an efficient social media program on going, that promotes the site on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest and we will be adding YouTube soon. If you are interested in this please be in touch with us and send some of your work. Then we will assess whether or not we feel we can help you.
